If I swung an axe everyone around me would lose a knee or three I almost made this into poetry
So here is the post picture of me holding the axe. Bear cutting down the tree (after I delivered the axe to him) and Jedidiah (with his famous speared rat tat) making sure the ground stood still
Raspberrytoast posted this a while back....and I have to admit I watched this at least 20 times and giggled myself silly each time
I love this movie. I love this book. I love this song.
I knew someone that made this his theme song. He is black (and punk and didn't fuck around with the label crap, with either label he could carry)....I never saw the unlabeling in this scene until I met him
The Sabres have taken a beating this year with injury after injury.
But they are kicking ass and ranked #1 - a standing they have pretty much held since the season started.
We flew to Buffalo for the first Carolina game in Buffalo (non-hockey followers, they lost the Stanley Cup to Carolina last year). The crowd went crazy after Buffalo won - you would have thought it was a playoff game!
We will be flying to Buffalo this year - no doubt to watch the playoff games - and hopefully take the Stanley Cup.
Thursday's game was beyond wild (video below). I have seen goalies go to blows at center ice 1x in my life - Avs and Redwings playing for the Stanley Cup. What I haven't seen is the coaches needing ref interference.
Rob has been watching hockey since birth (or really close to that)- he said this is a first!
Drury (BUF) took a really cheap shot to the face, ultimately receiving 23 stitches. He is arguably their best player. This started the whole brawl. And a brawl it was. He is out for a week or more due to a concussion - the blood he spewed on the ice was a good indicator.
These 2 teams play again tonight - this time in Ottawa. I usually reserve my hockey games to playoffs, but I will be in front of the tube tonight.
And a bonus for Marc - a little Rick Jeanneret for your listening pleasure
I went to make my coffee this morning and found their lifeless little bodies. At the tender age of 5
The poor shrimp in the bio-sphere were just floating amongst the algae.
It was all my fault - I put them in the kitchen window sill on a nice sunny day, thought they could use to synthesize some vitamin D....shrimp do that too, right?
Anyway, I have been so wrapped up in work they have sat in the window for a couple of weeks getting exposed to the chilly weather here lately. If only I had sweaters knitted for them. But I can't dwell on that. I must move on
Rob says we could cremate them and put them next to the other pet urns. I think that sounds nice!
We already have their replacements growing - Biggie brought me some Sea Monkeys a few weeks ago.
Really I am thinking my subconscious knew I couldn’t care for shrimp and sea monkeys at the same time. The mind works in mysterious ways!
