We shed layers of clothing when we got home. Granted it was only 40 degrees but that's 21 degrees warmer than we had in Colorado.
Dogs were way excited (thank god they aren't the hyper-peer kind)
Nothing was burned down or broken (okay just realized this does not apply to the microwave which could have burned down the house and may be broken given its looks, but hey, you can't win 'em all)
The vacation started supberly wondermous. Fine lunch and a stout with Prank in Denver. How cool to meet people face to face after internet interactions.
We arrived at my grandparents' house (home base for the week) and told them about our lunch. When we told them we met up with a guy we met on the internet, Prank was known as the "weirdo internet guy" for the remainder of the trip. (Don't feel bad Prank, they like to call Rob "ole whats his face"). For some reason a jewel in the belly button got into the scene as well. I have no idea how my grandfather's mind works so I will leave that as an unknown analogy of his. Or another one of his Yugloslav fortune cookies - like "he who hesitates, sucks!"
We then headed back up Prank's way to see "Zero". It was a great show and my knees still hurt from dancing most of the night.
Topped the night off at the Prankster Palace and he was a host with the most! Even did the designated driver routine for us. What a fine, fine human being if I ever did meet one. Not only did he provide sleeping quarters and coffee but the use of his scanner, computer, internet, printer AND a writable CD for my emergency situation. Okay, not really an emergency but more like an FTP (or failure to plan) on my part. Thank you sir!
Spent time with the immediate family - found out my sister was in Denver partying at the same time we were there - but have a feeling our party favors were slightly off the charts from hers.
Did some money losing in Cripple Creek. Had a great dinner and conversation with friends and hit the airplane home, realizing I carried my camera with me everywhere and never snapped a picture. Oh well. Got the ole noodle to keep events alive.
Back to working my ass off and Rob has some recorded hockey games to keep him busy for 60 minutes or so
