My 1 year came and went .....

Wow! I can't believe it has been a year on Blogstream already.

If you read my last post, you know I SUCK at dates and reference to time. My Birthday would pass me by if it weren't for the funny little reminders that some call "cards".

Major events, however stick in my head. That is the only way I can reference time. Take for example Rob and I. We have been together 6 years. The only reason I know that is we started dating 10 days before 9/11.

My 1 year mark on Blogstream is tagged with a super bowl party, complete crazy party that ended up with everyone squeezing the party into our tiny laundry room and discussing (at that moment in time) what seemed to be the most important issue needing discussion.

Thinking back, it was probably something to the effect of "I cannot believe YOU wear tighty whities!" (Sorry Biggie, for some reason I just can't see you as a tighty whity guy)

Biggie was doing this Blogging thing and encouraged me to "get up on my soapbox" and the devil was thus born.

Since the super bowl hasn't occurred, I missed my anniversary. But, without fail, there will be another party. Adorned with Spinach Dip, Queso and Guacamole dip, Italian Beef Sandwiches, Chili, Chili dogs and my famous Margaritas. I know weird menu to add margaritas but they are the best on the planet. Give this recipe a shot and watch your friends pass out before half time. YUMMY

2 cans of sprite
2 cans frozen lime-aid
2 bottles of corona
Mix these together
Fill the two empty lime-aid cans with tequila - mix again

Who will we be routing for? Well considering who our friends are, most of the guys will go for Prince and then the team that has the cutest butts!

Me? This is the first year since the Broncos have gone that I even care. So, go Bears! ('cuz Grandma wants them to win)

What day is it? What time is it? How old are you?

Who gives a shit! You can't change it so why waste the brain space keeping up with it.

Last week I went to a new hire orientation thingie. There was a little quiz at the end of the day with questions about the company history, policy....or as I like to call those "were you fucking sleeping through this thing" quiz. It required my signature and date so it could be to put in the that file that nobody ever looks at, unless you are about to be fired.

The first question was - what year did the company form?____________

I turned to the manager sitting behind me and asked (in my sly whisper voice) "what is the date?"

She responded "to question #1? 1992"

I replied, "No, I was paying attention. What is today's date?"

She gave a loud giggle thinking I was trying to cheat. I got a scornful look from the class moderator for disrupting the quiet nature of things. I don't belong with the generic title "she is corporate".

And I am quite proud of that

 No clue....but Bella started it

This is Red - to me he is the epitome of Waits' lyrics (oops, don't mind the crashed and stolen car that rode up into our neighbor's house)

This is some random dude we got a pic of in NYC - to me he is the epitome of Waits' lyrics

I think this chic got what Waits' is sayin' (oops, don't mind the antique opium pipe on the mantle)

Waits is my man! Next to Iggy...

And this guy lives for Iggy...and he is sometimes the epitome of Waits' lyrics (oops, don't mind the bird atop the cap...or the red star on the cap)

And this dude probably knew a helluva a lot about what Iggy and Waits have to say

What does this have to do with the price of gas and milk in the 'hood? Shit if I know.....but it was fun being random

 Back from Vacation.....

We shed layers of clothing when we got home. Granted it was only 40 degrees but that's 21 degrees warmer than we had in Colorado.

Dogs were way excited (thank god they aren't the hyper-peer kind)

Nothing was burned down or broken (okay just realized this does not apply to the microwave which could have burned down the house and may be broken given its looks, but hey, you can't win 'em all)

The vacation started supberly wondermous. Fine lunch and a stout with Prank in Denver. How cool to meet people face to face after internet interactions.

We arrived at my grandparents' house (home base for the week) and told them about our lunch. When we told them we met up with a guy we met on the internet, Prank was known as the "weirdo internet guy" for the remainder of the trip. (Don't feel bad Prank, they like to call Rob "ole whats his face"). For some reason a jewel in the belly button got into the scene as well. I have no idea how my grandfather's mind works so I will leave that as an unknown analogy of his. Or another one of his Yugloslav fortune cookies - like "he who hesitates, sucks!"

We then headed back up Prank's way to see "Zero". It was a great show and my knees still hurt from dancing most of the night.

Topped the night off at the Prankster Palace and he was a host with the most! Even did the designated driver routine for us. What a fine, fine human being if I ever did meet one. Not only did he provide sleeping quarters and coffee but the use of his scanner, computer, internet, printer AND a writable CD for my emergency situation. Okay, not really an emergency but more like an FTP (or failure to plan) on my part. Thank you sir!

Spent time with the immediate family - found out my sister was in Denver partying at the same time we were there - but have a feeling our party favors were slightly off the charts from hers.

Did some money losing in Cripple Creek. Had a great dinner and conversation with friends and hit the airplane home, realizing I carried my camera with me everywhere and never snapped a picture. Oh well. Got the ole noodle to keep events alive.

Back to working my ass off and Rob has some recorded hockey games to keep him busy for 60 minutes or so
